Article in the making 'Potholes, hucksters, posers and liars' in the scuba crowd

See:www.scubatampa.com/calendar.html and www.scubatampa.com/classes.html for additional information.

Scubadviser and Jackie Hutchings are a Disgrace!

A 'Huckster' is a person who uses aggressive or questionable methods of selling.

A perfect example of questionable methods and foolish nonsense are these 'Huckster' comments by self-appointed 'scuba adviser' Jackie Hutchings .

'Let's face it, having a bad diving experience is not like staying in a bad hotel - the risks are considerable - divers can (and have) died. Scubadviser is a review site for dive centres and liveaboards. Written by divers for divers, the reviews rate safety, standard of equipment, care for the environment and much more' (sic).
~ Jackie Hutchings, Huckster

Scare tactics used to make a sale?  This is a disgrace!  Reviews written by divers for divers? These 'review divers' are 'newbies', folks who took a dive course once. Opinions by 'newbies' on safety, equipment, environment and much more?  I don't think so.

Divemasters and Instructors 'are the epitome of trust and advice'. They have knowledge and 'deep pockets' (insurance) to protect you.

PADI (the Professional Association of Dive Instructors) advice you can trust:

Chris and John Russell are a scuba diving experts. Capt John is a PADI instructor for twenty (20) years as of 05/14/2010 over 1700 PADI Students certified.

Opinions given freely are usually worthless!--Capt. John Russell

Gulf of Mexico

Hog Fish

Nice Hog fish by Patrick Marsh, MD taken 5.29.10, 50 feet, off of St. Pete Florida.

Water temps are 80+ degrees, Sky Way Bridge to the Anclote River. I am ready to go Gulf diving!

Keep your eye on the Gulf... The cleanup will require divers.....employment for some.

You may want to consider Dry Suit. We teach Dry Suit courses for 3 agencies. Zeagle Dive Systems recently purchased Pinnacle Dry Suits one of the best on the market (the kind I dive) so we'll be involved with training, sales and maintenance of Dry Suits.

Let's go diving.

Crystal River

Manatees! The Manatees have left their winter home in Crystal River and are traveling their summer salt water grazing routes. We wish them a warm safe summer and await their return in the fall.

We will occasionally see an orphan during the summer! The best guarantee is  http://www.lowryparkzoo.com/

We are considering a Manatee Safari that will stalk/track the manatee by water from Florida to Louisiana  north on the West Coast and Florida West Coast south then North to the Carolinas on the East Coast. It will be expensive, probably $250.00 per person per day. Let me know if this interests you. This may be the last chance to see or save a manatee on the West Coast of Florida.  The oil spill could kill them all.

Cool Web

COOL

WEB

SITES

Now this is really cool: http://www.earthalbum.com/ Photos from the whole world.

Vietnam. First click on a state.  When it opens, scroll down to the city and the names will appear. Then click on their names.  It should show you a picture of the person, or at least their bio and medals. This really is an amazing web site.  Someone spent a lot of time and effort to create it.

I hope that everyone who receives this appreciates what those who served in Vietnam sacrificed for our country.

The link below is a virtual wall of all those lost during the Vietnam war with the names, bio's and other information on our lost heroes.  Those who remember that timeframe, or perhaps lost friends or family can look them up on this site.  Pass the link on to others if you like.
